Hitchin Girls School, Hitchin
Optimal identified savings this school's existing system hadn't discovered.
Being a very proactive school in managing their utility consumption already, the
local Officer In Charge (OIC) was a little sceptical as to whether our system would
identify anything new. After deciding to go ahead with the system, the OIC was pleasantly
surprised to see that the system identified short term surges in consumption during
night time hours, as well as an overall high base loading during the night.
The OIC at this school was keen to implement a number of alarms to warn him about
certain specific criteria he had identified. The OIC was also extremely keen in
being able to use all aspects of the system himself, and as such we have revisited
the school on a number of occasions in order to provide supplementary training to
the OIC as required.
The OIC also uses the system extensively to compare month on month profiles, and
to produce monthly costing reports. This enabled the school to accurately account
and accrue for its utility consumption costs on a regular basis, rather than await
the receipt of actual utility bills. The school then undertakes a full reconciliation
of the actual bills to the recorded consumption when they arrive. Due to delays
in certain utility bills being received, the school has found the financial costing
features of our system invaluable. The use of our system has enabled surplus cash
to be released from reserves due to the removal of the uncertainty as to what their
actual financial commitment for utility consumption is each quarter. This point
has been a recurring theme amongst schools using our system.
As with other clients, additional training visits and subsequent advice have been
provided at minimal cost.
